The Coronavirus has gotten the attention of everyone in the world today and media outlets in efforts to gain viewership have resorted to sensationalism, erroneous reporting and strange assumptions that has gotten the whole world into a state of panic.

Coronavirus: Are Packages Contagious?

Here are some of the contradictions to date:

Published Statement – Fox
Coronavirus and Money:

“Last month, both China and Korea began disinfecting and isolating used banknotes as part of their efforts to stop the spread of the virus. Officials used ultraviolet light or high temperatures to sterilize the bills, then sealed them for 14days, before releasing them back into circulation. Money, similar to things like doorknobs, handrails, phones, and credit cards, can carry the bacteria or viruses. So, in the end, just wash your hands.”

Coronavirus: Will money cleansing help?

Contradiction to that Statement

  • “Don’t panic – Contrary to what you might have read online, Coronavirus can’t be transmitted in packages, even those originating from China. Make sure your customers are aware that they have nothing to worry about once their orders are delivered.”

So the question here is…why is the virus transmitted through currency, but packages are safe to receive?  Is the media attempting to make us believe that there is a difference between paper money and boxes o…r parcel… or letters.  Or they just don’t have a clue on what the facts are, and they are reporting anything that they can come up with, true or not?

Coronavirus: Keeping New York in Panic

Published Statement

  • “Any American can be tested for the Coronavirus”

Contradiction to that Statement

  • “New York City officials pleaded in a letter to the federal government on Friday to send more test kits for the new coronavirus, saying that the city’s limited capacity to test for the virus had “impeded our ability to beat back this epidemic.”

Ok then, if New York doesn’t have enough test kits for their population, how is that every American can be tested?

Coronavirus: Who Should Really Wear a Mask?

Published Statement

  • “Only those that are infected should wear a mask”

Contradiction to that Statement

  • “As of noon on Friday, fewer than 100 people had been tested for the coronavirus in New York City over the past month, according to the city’s Department of Health, even as concerns grew that the virus was circulating largely undetected

So here the question is; If you don’t know if you are infected or not, how do you determine who should protect themselves with a mask?  Shouldn’t everyone wear a mask just to make sure they are safe?

Bottom line there seems to be an unfortunate lack of dignity and integrity in the media today, which leads to confusion and dissent amongst the population.  Therefore it is best to look after yourself and your family the best you can by keeping your immune system strong, staying away from crowded places and use good hygiene.

How COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Spreads

Person-to-person spread

The virus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person.

  • Between people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet).
  • Through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes.

These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby or possibly be inhaled into the lungs.

Can someone spread the virus without being sick?

  • People are thought to be most contagious when they are most symptomatic (the sickest).
  • Some spread might be possible before people show symptoms; there have been reports of this occurring with this new coronavirus, but this is not thought to be the main way the virus spreads.

Spread from contact with infected surfaces or objects

It may be possible that a person can get COVID-19 by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or possibly their eyes, but this is not thought to be the main way the virus spreads.

How easily the virus spreads

How easily a virus spreads from person-to-person can vary. Some viruses are highly contagious (spread easily), like measles, while other viruses do not spread as easily. Another factor is whether the spread is sustained, spreading continually without stopping.

The virus that causes COVID-19 seems to be spreading easily and sustainably in the community (“community spread”) in some affected geographic areas.

Community spread means people have been infected with the virus in an area, including some who are not sure how or where they became infected.

Watch for symptoms

Reported illnesses have ranged from mild symptoms to severe illness and death for confirmed coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases.

The following symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure.*
